Hardware Recommendations

We do not sell this hardware. These are the wheelbase and pedal families we designed the platform around — recommended as compatible context for the cockpit, based on design intent.

Direct-drive wheelbases

The platform was designed around direct-drive loads. These are the bases the structural geometry was drawn to work with.

R12 Direct Drive Wheelbase

A 12Nm direct-drive base at a price point that has shifted the direct-drive conversation. The ESS platform was designed with direct-drive loads in mind — this is the class of hardware we drew around.

Simucube 2 Sport

One of the reference direct-drive bases in the sim racing community. Force detail at low Nm, tunable via Simucube Configuration Tool. If you already own one, the ESS platform was designed with bases like this in mind.

Fitment confirmation pending Callum verification.

Alpha Mini

Compact form factor, direct-drive performance. If you are space-constrained or want to keep overall rig width down, the Alpha Mini is worth consideration.

Fitment confirmation pending Callum verification.

Load-cell pedals

The floor support and pedal plate were drawn to take the loads a load-cell set generates. These are the pedal families the platform was designed around.

Sprint Pedals

Load-cell pedals that have become a benchmark in the sim racing category. The floor support and pedal plate on the ESS platform were drawn to take the loads a load-cell brake generates.

Pedal plate fitment confirmation pending Callum verification — see /hardware/ for the current status.
